 (born 2 October 1997)  won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics (Tokyo) in the Women's welterweight event, becoming only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.

A very proud moment for India as another daughter of a multicultural country begged medal in Olympics.

Lovlina is the first female athlete and the second boxer from Assam, India to represent the country in the Olympics.

India reserves 65th rank with another bronze in Tokyo Olympics with a total of 5 medals (2 Silver +  3 Bronze).


India's Lovlina Borgohain took home a bronze medal from the Tokyo Olympics after losing her semi-final bout in women's welterweight (64-69kg) boxing to Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey via unanimous decision on Wednesday. 

Lovlina became the third Indian boxer after Vijender Singh and MC Mary Kom to win a medal at the Olympic Games.
