The reign of House Targaryen begins: House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones, is here. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones tells the story of House Targaryen.
The show's title derives from a passage from A Game of Thrones Chapter 3, Daenerys I: The water was scalding hot, but Daenerys did not flinch or cry out. She liked the heat. had often told her that it was never too hot for a Targaryen. "Ours is the house of the dragon," he would say. "The fire is in our blood."
